Midwifery Services

YOUR CARE

As your midwife I provide complete prenatal care in the privacy of your home.  This is particularly convenient for mamas expecting their second, third or tenth babies as well as first time parents who may also enjoy the time and privacy to discuss questions and or concerns.  Prenatal appointments usually last around an hour and each one includes routine urinalysis, growth checks, blood pressure, fetal heart auscultation (listening to the baby's heart), palpation (checking the baby's position) and plenty of time to answer questions and offer suggestions and advice.  Your prenatal care may also includes routine labs and tests such as an ob panel (blood draw), RH screening, GBS screening, glucose screening, ultrasound referral and additional tests if necessary.  Not all tests are required and more are available as necessary or desired.

My role as your midwife is to assist you in growing the healthiest baby possible & having and enjoying a healthy pregnancy as well as aiding in a safe and natural birth.  I also provide complete postpartum care for you and your baby for six weeks after the birth.  This includes breastfeeding assistance as well as informative newborn care advice and support.

COST

Midwifery care is an affordable option for many families without insurance or insurance with high deductables.  The entire fee for prenatal care, labor & birth assistance and six weeks of postpartum and newborn care is usually less than many insurance deductables.  I also offer a cash pay discount and early payment discount.  Please don't let cost be a prohibiting factor in getting the care you want and deserve.  I will work with any family that is willing to work with me.

When filing for insurance payment I work with a professional insurance biller. It is common for an individual to call their insurance company and be told they do not cover midwives services but then have our billers successfully verfiy benefits, hence the asset of having an insurance biller.

We have had success filing for partial and  full payment with the following insurance companies:

Aetna
Alliance / OneNet PPO
BlueCross & BlueShield of Texas
Cigna
FirstHealth / Coventry
Humana
Other Commercial
TriCare
United HealthCare
If your insurance provider isn't listed above it still may cover midwifery care, many of the smaller insurance companies do.  Contact me to find out.   sasha@womblove.com
